At Beautiluxe, based in Bamber Bridge, I use hyaluronic acid fillers which are reversible, therefore temporary. Generally injectable treatments last for 6-9 months for lips. This can be reduced depending on your own body's metabolism, no one can predict how quickly you metabolise filler. To maintain desired results, filler treatments require maintenance.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is present in the skin already however the loss natural hyaluronic acid contributes to the visual signs of ageing. Injectable HA filler is a gel like substance which has been created in a lab to be as close to natural hyaluronic acid as possible and its behaviour. HA is easily accepted by the body and integrates beautifully and naturally within your own tissues. It is ideal to help restore lost volume, enhance your features such as cheeks and rejuvenate your appearance.
Deciding upon lip fillers is such a personal choice and with so much hype on social media, there is so many poor examples out there and it is enough to scare people away! Lip fillers are great for smokers lines, defining the outline of the lip to regain structure and adding hydration to reduce the appearance of lines on the lip. Not only can lip filler rejuvenate the lips, it can really help to restore a youthful appearance. As we age, our top lip between the nose and mouth can lengthen and lips can start to become thin/dehyrdrated, coupled with a downward smile in some patients. The key is using the correct type of filler and technique to achieve your desired look. And one thing, despite the poor examples and frequent images of "duck lips", I can assure you 100%, this is never a look ANY of my clients leave with. It would be unethical in my opinion to over inject and distort lips to an extreme.
During your appointment, we will hold a consultation to not only assess your anatomy, but discuss all the risks and benefits of treatment. This is a 2 way consultation, where ample time is given for questions or concerns. This treatment, like all aesthetic treatments are elective, and I like to work with my clients to achieve their desired goal. In some occasions, your treatment may require a number of sessions, in particular with those with thin lips or "M" shaped lips. If the treatment risks migration due to current lip filler treatment you already have, it is advised to dissolve and start again as any further treatments would just exacerbate this.
Photographs are taken before and after the treatment. Topical numbing cream is applied for a minimum of 20 minutes. All the hyaluronic acid fillers used contain Lidocaine for extra pain control management. If you wish, you can purchase Emla Cream from the pharmacy to apply 1 hour prior to the appointment.
I pride myself with my infection control procedures and aim to minimise risks of infection. Cleansing antiseptic is used prior to injecting and using an aseptic technique, safely administer the treatment. Finally once treatment is complete, a thorough examination of the vascular network is checked for client safety.
This is the important part. I am a registered nurse prescriber trained and qualified to assess, diagnose, prescribe and treat any infections or complications. Should any complications occur, you would contact me and I would medically manage this independently. Only medically qualified practitioners who prescribe can manage your care from start to end safely and independently.
Following all filler treatments you will be provided with aftercare instructions, an after care pack and 24/7 after care support. I will contact you throughout your recovery to ensure all is well and should you need to be seen, you will be seen promptly.
An emergency kit is held in clinic & I am able to prescribe any acute medical treatments required in an emergency. Should you require acute medications to be taken post procedure, you will be issued a private prescription that can be dispensed by any local pharmacy.
